N\u00eb fund t\u00eb shekullit t\u00eb 14-t\u00eb, nj\u00eb bullgar i quajtur Kubrat u kuror\u00ebzua si patric nga perandori bizantin.  N\u00eb shekullin e 5-t\u00eb, vendi u dominua nga turqit.  Turqit ishin t\u00eb njohur p\u00ebr shtypjen e popullit t\u00eb Ballkanit dhe shtypjen e kultur\u00ebs s\u00eb tyre.
