A la fin du XIVe si\u00e8cle, un Bulgare nomm\u00e9 Kubrat fut couronn\u00e9 patricien par l&#8217;empereur byzantin.  Au Ve si\u00e8cle, le pays \u00e9tait domin\u00e9 par les Turcs.  Les Turcs \u00e9taient connus pour opprimer les peuples des Balkans et supprimer leur culture.
